The Poetry Hoot
Askia Toure was one of the
featured readers at the opening Hoot Night of the 2006-2007 season on
Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at Cafe Espresso in Portsmouth.

Neil English speaks to another rapt Poetry Hoot crowd in March at
Cafe Espresso in Portsmouth.

The first Wednesday of each month* at 7:00 PM. Get there early to
get a good seat!

Where:
The Poetry Hoot meets at Cafe Espresso
restaurant at 738 Islington Street
in the 800 Islington Plaza, Portsmouth, NH. Get

Directions to the Poetry Hoot at Cafe Espresso:
Starting at the Portsmouth Public Library, go south on Islington Street, through several
sets of lights.
Keep left, on Islington St., at the lights by the CVS pharmacy. Soon thereafter,
turn left into 800 Islington Plaza.
Get
Map. Cafe Espresso is in the row of stores on your left.
There is ample parking in front
of the cafe. Coffee and light refreshments can be purchased at the cafe. Handicapped
accessible.
Hoot Format:
There will be two featured readers and an 'open mike' immediately following so bring
your poem
and be ready to read. While at the hoot, submit a poem to "Poems from the
Hoot" Please limit your poem to 1 page
or approx. 2 minutes. Please: no announcements from the podium. We have a
